Season 2 Episode 5 of TuriyaTalks took place on 23th of June 2020, where we talked about on a very on-going session “Opportunities in Media and Entertainment Industry. The guest of honour of the session was a former journalist turned academician, Dr. Buroshiva Dasgupta. In the current  environment, the opportunities intrinsic to social media are plentiful. Some of the potential opportunities include collaboration and connectivity among users. Industry experts keep a close watch on these trends so that they can be prepared for changes and alter their strategies to stay relevant in the market. Also, it is highly essential for businesses to keep a closer watch on the opportunities and challenges that are coming their way. This would help them prepare themselves to withstand contingencies and capitalize on the opportunities at the right time. According to him, any growth in the media industry is always associated with changes in technology. So, the media professionals have to get accustomed to all new technologies - both software and hardware and be flexible enough to work in any vertical. Along the same line, he emphasized on why the people associated with print media must adjust with the changing times and there is always an opportunity for print media professionals in the digital media profession.
